How can I make an appointment with a Hirshsprung specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital?

If you have a child with Hirschsprung disease and would like to make an appointment, please call our Colorectal Center at 844-275-6883. Please have the following ready when you call:

  • Patient’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Insurance information
  • Referring physician’s office contact information (telephone and/or email)

If the patient is currently in the hospital, please read our information on transferring to Cincinnati Children’s below.

How do I transfer my child or relative’s care to Cincinnati Children’s?

For patients currently admitted to another hospital:
All referrals from outside hospitals have to be initiated by a patient’s doctor. We cannot contact doctors or hospitals about transferring patients who are not already under our care. If you would like to transfer care, please have a discussion with your doctor and they will contact us directly to arrange the transfer. Only the treating doctor will be able to determine if your child or relative is well enough to be safely transferred to Cincinnati Children’s.
